Following the exhibition’s theme ‘clay & wood’ we will be showing an interesting selection of  both antique & contemporary objects in these materials.  Folk art, tribal art, Provencal yellow-glazed pots, char dishes, Swedish dug-out bowls and treen will sit alongside contemporary ceramics by Corinna Kenyon-WadeKaren Downing, Orford-based Annie Turner, Essex-born Matt Warner and Sun Kim who works as an apprentice to Edmund de Waal.

Suffolk-born artist/maker Nic Webb, who carves a stunning variety of wooden spoons, will also be showing at Made by Hand.  And we will be exhibiting a diverse and interesting collection of spoons & servers designed by Kirsten Hecktermann which were so popular at Made by Hand 2012.

An exciting show of pottery is planned for June 2014.   We will be showcasing the work of Welsh potter Corinna Kenyon Wade who creates functional pots in a pastel palette and Karen Downing with her handthrown porcelain pots, glazed in satin white.  Karen’s pots are restrained and unadorned yet highly finished and finely detailed.  Alongside the ceramics we will be exhibiting an interesting selection of antique decorative objects and beautiful hand carved wooden spoons and spatulas from East Africa.
